The United States of America warned Nigerian students about skipping classes or dropping out without school approval.

International students studying in the United States of America received a stern warning on Monday, August 4th, for violating student visa rules and regulations.

The US mission in Nigeria shared an official message on their X platform to caution international students, including Nigerian students, who skip classes or leave their academic programs without notifying their institution, risk having their visa revoked and being deported.

The United States also informs that students who violate this term will affect eligibility for future US visa applications.

The mission stated on their official X,

“If you drop out, skip classes, or leave your programmes of study without informing your school, your student visa may be revoked, and you may lose eligibility for future US visas,”.

“Always adhere to the terms of your visa and maintain your student status to avoid any issues,” the mission added.

The US mission in Nigeria has also advised student visa holders to follow visa rules.

Nigerian students on social media are currently making a fuss while netizens share different opinions.

The Netizens noted that the United States of America’s warning should be strictly followed to avoid deportation and future visa rejection.
