The scholarship program was co-funded by the European Union and the Ministry of Education, Research, Development, and Youth of the Slovak Republic. Particularly, it is for the development of the Slovak Republic and requires talented students worldwide.
Scholarship opportunities in Slovakia?
Slovakia is one of the best countries in Europe for welcoming students from all backgrounds. It is a safe country with career opportunities and great academics. Between 2019 and 2021, the percentage of international students in tertiary education rose from 9% to 11%, according to the OECD.
The Slovak Spectator reported that international students comprised approximately 12% of all students at universities in Slovakia.
You can get a scholarship of €5000 per academic year, with 3 years of support for your full-time Bachelor’s degree or the first three years of a full-time joint Bachelor’s and Master’s degree study program. Postgraduate students can also get 2 years of support for master’s degree studies.
Scholarships are available for studies in selected fields that support the development of the Slovak Republic.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
- One of the criteria of this scholarship is that applicants will start their studies at a supported Slovak higher education institution in the academic year 2025/2026.
- Applicants must write the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) with a minimum score of 1100.

How to Apply
The scholarship program for the 2025/2026 academic year has commenced. Register and submit your application before 31 July 2025, 23:59 (CET) via the official website.
- Check eligibility on the official website.
- Choose a designated higher education institution in Slovakia and explore available programs.
- Pass your Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) with the required criterion.
- Register and apply online. Submit your application before the deadline.
- All applications must be reviewed by the ministry and the higher education institutions.
- Announcements: check your profile for updates
- Prepare to travel to Slovakia. Arrange residency or D visa, school enrollment, and arrival.
- Receive the scholarship. Students will get 500 monthly for successful applicants.

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
- ID or passport. Applicants are expected to have a certified copy of a valid identity document or passport.
- Solemn Declaration of Permanent Residence
- Slovak Living Abroad with Slovak Citizenship (if applicable)
- Solemn Declaration of Temporary Residence (if applicable)
- Solemn Declaration – Language / Professional Course Preparation or Previous Bachelor’s Studies Supported by the Scholarship Scheme under the Recovery and Resilience Plan
- Confirmation of Exception – Temporary Residence due to Language/Professional Course (if applicable)
- Solemn Declaration – Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps, or Academic Mobility (if applicable)
- Certificate or Confirmation of Participation in Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps, or Academic Mobility (if applicable)
- Consent of the Legal Guardian for Processing of Minor Applicant’s Personal Data (if applicable)
- Certificate with SAT Test Results
- Acceptance Letter from a Higher Education Institution (if available)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Motivation Letter
Applicants who desire positive results will have these essential documents for application evaluation.
After completion, successful scholarship holders will then upload their original documents upon registration at the higher education institution in which they enrol.
Note: altered documents or false representation from applicants will result in the scholarship being withdrawn, and obliged to repay the already awarded based on non-compliance.
